Recruit A Friend (RAF) NOT WORKING!

I made a new account to recruit a friend with my friend. When he sent me the email I made my account through that, I followed the 3 step guidelines on what to do and I even got to enter the authentication code. Once I did that I was in the game. However, we do not have recruit a friend benefits. Help please.

We'd need a bit more information, such as a character name/realm on the accounts in question, Aierus.

It's not terribly uncommon for a new account to be made instead of a link trial upgraded, but that doesn't quite sound like the case here.
