Need help with recruit a friend.

So, I messed up. Instead of upgrading an account with the trial key, I accidentally created a new one! So, is there ANYTHING that can be done? My cousin is up for 3 or 4 days, and we wanted to get started ASAP. Did I screw myself out of $20?
