Werid missing items

I recently returned to WoW, after taking a break time of a few months.

When i returned i noticed on my account i was missing only a select few of my items: Neck,,Back,wrist,feet,both trinkets,and main/offhand weapon slots are all gone on all of my chars. ( Accept the heirlooms ofcorse )

Though i do believe it is a hacker that done this, its rather odd for them to only DE those select items on my chars and not the rest of the DE/Sellable items. ( im also left with less than 10g ) Also when you can choose to log into a char on the forums i saw alot of accounts with random names that are all only level 1. So maybe my account was used by botters to advertise?

Im just lookign for maybe an explanation as to why this occured if anyone has any ideas.

I'm afraid I can't offer an answer as to why hackers do the things they do. Generally speaking, they are trying to get as much gold out of your account as possible, so vendoring or disenchanting what they see as high-value items are their first priority. If they don't see a profit (or a notable one), sometimes they may leave certain items alone.

The most important part of this issue, however, is to have your account investigated and to go over your security. I'll take the steps to refer you directly, since it appears you are not yet in queue. =) In the future, all you need to do is report this by submitting a petition either in-game or via e-mail at [email protected] explaining your situation. If you don't have more than what you provided in your original post, that's okay. Our investigators are pretty good at filling in the blanks if they have at least some kind of general idea.
