Account banned

Hi, my brothers account <removed> got banned this morning, so im letting him on my account to type this up:

I woke up this morning and tried to logon to wow, and it kept telling me incorrect password. So i looked in my email, and there was an unauthorised password reset (that hadnt been opened, so i guess they didnt hack my email too...), and an email saying that I have been banned for "Exploitative Activity: Use of Third Party Automation Software"
Now... I've never once use anything automated in any game that i've ever played. Getting a bot to play a game for you makes no sense to me at all. So the only conclusion that I can think of is that somehow the people that reset my password actually got into my game account and were automating stuff.

The only thing that I can think of that someone may have thought was automated, was me sitting in borean tundra last night on my pally hitting a mob for like an hour to get its 2H sword skill up to 400... But i was at the computer the whole time...

So yes, I would definatly like to be unbanned, as though it seems that I got hacked before I got banned (password got reset at 9:52am, account banned email at 9:58am)

Off to buy an authenticator now it seems!

Thank you.

There is only so much we can tell a 3rd party - but the password reset was from us.

This isn't a ban - it's a suspension which will decay naturally.

Now, if he'd like to appeal this - all he needs to do is email Account Administration at [email protected]. Given your location - if a proxy is ever used, that would be worth mentioning as well.

Q u o t e:
I didnt think a proxy would be counted as 3rd party automation software. Yes i use Lowerpings software for ping reduction, if that helps.

So theres nothing that can be done by contacting the people on the forums?

I'm afraid not, this will need to be reviewed. And by the way, our phones DO have a queue, it can sometimes be a little challenging getting through to the queue - and we also have an Australian number, although the office times are based on Pacific Coast time.

Calling won't be beneficial in a situation like this, however.

was just trying to help mr blue, figured if there was a bann appeal he would have to call them :\

Billing doesn't deal with appeals as a rule, however. That always going to be Account Administration.

It may indeed expire naturally first, although currently our queue times are quite good.

It's still important to appeal this if it's in error - that way your account can be duly noted and this doesn't come back to haunt later :)
