Need before Greed in a raid?

A GM just told me in game a ninja of Precious' Ribbon was legit because we were on ML instead of Need before Greed? Silly me to assume that ML was necessary when clothies can roll on tank necks in Need before Greed. Yes, we clarified loot rules MS>OS before raid started to try to stop the ML from ninja'ing, but apparently ninja's are not only inevitable, but encouraged by blizzard. I had grown accustomed to the immorality of the people that play this game, but I am disgusted that the people that run it also follow the same code of conduct.

Behavior police is beside the point. Blizzard has explicitly said ninjas are bannable offenses.

Er.. no, we haven't. We have repeatedly stated that the act of ninja'ing (taking an item that you do not qualify for and did not earn) is not possible with the mechanics in game.

We have stated that the Master Loot system is mostly intended for guilds and groups of players that have reason to trust one another and said that the other looting methods available such as Group Loot or Need before Greed are better suited for PuGs.

We have said that under the Master Loot system if clear and concise rules are laid out and those are not followed it may be considered a scam and be handled under our Scam Policy.

We're not able to serve as the morality police, Isavelives, we are simply unable to govern every aspect of player interaction and behavior. We address what we can, such as the language and context used - amongst other things, but this is a social game where players are essentially anonymous to one another.

If you believe a scam took please feel free to report it, we will take what actions are appropriate based on any violations found. It is important to note that our actions will be based on the behavior of the accused and if they actually did violate our scam policy, redistribution of loot is not always possible.

What is Blizzard Entertainment's stance on "ninja looting" within the World of Warcraft?
