Battle.net parental control bugs?

I had to have Blizzard disassociate and merge WoW account with battle.net when I went to resubscribe and I'm at a loss with battle.net right now. I setup the parental controls and according to the settings I shouldn't be allowed to post on the forums right now, but it is.. is battle.net really that buggy or did something not get set right? I don't know how it's all tied together. Real ID doesn't appear to be working according to the FAQ either. From what I read disabling it should clear the Real ID friends but all it seemed to do was disable the interface options. There was a Real ID friend visible even though I supposedly disabled it. I removed them but left wondering if it actually cleared everything or not.

The Parental Control settings you designated are accurate, Xioni.

In order for the settings to take effect you need to completely log out of the Forums, clear your cookies and cache in your internet browser, and attempt to log back into the Forums and update the thread.

Do the same thing in-game for the Real ID issue – completely exit the game to your desktop, re-launch the game, and see if you can see any friends visible.
