Q u o t e:
Enhancement is a spec designed around combining melee weapons strikes with spells. They also have totems and weapon enchants. Almost all of the talents in the tree support that direction. If half of your talents were trying to turn you into a healer and half of them were trying to turn you into a tank or something, then I'd understand the "no consistent direction" feedback. But that's not what the tree does at all. Stormstrike boosts weapon and spell damage. That is the tree in a nutshell. Other talents boost melee damage or spell damage or both. There are a few survival-oriented talents that should have even more use in PvE in the Cataclysm environment, but are still optional.
Sub tree has:
Tons of talents that increase bleed damage, a mastery that increases damaging finishers (redundant since Assassination increases envenom), only one usable bleed, an ability that generates more combo points than any other talent in any other tree and a strike that increases bleed damage...
Where's the stealth? You asked that shaman to pinpoint what it is that is the exact problem. Well here it is: None of the talents (most rather) mesh well together or play off each other. It's just a list of increases bleeds, and gives combo points.... After ONE ambush during Shadowdance you have 4 combo points given the talents available. What do we do? Continue ambushing during the timer and waste the points? Even if your answer is yes, it FEELS weird to just throw away points like that. Why is hemo being relegated to a Mangle? We only have ONE BLEED. If the tree is based around bleeds why can we not use our other bleed? It all feels like craziness.
I'm also a tad perturbed by the fact that once again the role of poisons for Assassination is just passive armor ignoring damage with no involvement by the player. Shiv would have done wonders there. But I think the question almost ALL rogues want the answer to is why , since the Sub tree is destined to be a bleed tree, does shadow dance not just allow us to use 1 move that requires stealth every 18-20 seconds so as to supply the tree with a second bleed?
None of the pieces are adding up. =( This may or may not get any answer but I would like to hear what the other rogues have to say.
