My Fiancée's accounts have been locked.

Dear Blizzard Support,

My Fiancée's accounts (two WoW accounts on the same Battle.net account) were just locked about an hour or so ago, for no apparent reason! I can confirm, in-game, that he has not been hacked, as he has only had one character logged in within the last hour, which was him.

One of the two accounts that was locked has not even been logged in to for some time, and certainly not tonight.

He has a mobile authenticator on his account, and he is an IT professional who keeps his gaming machine as clean and secure as is possible this day and age. He is certain he has no malware, no virus and no trojan on his machine.

Why would Blizzard lock his accounts? He is the ONLY person who accesses the accounts, and not a single person, not even ME, the person who sleeps next to him every night, has access to his BlackBerry, where his mobile authenticator is located.

We did just move to Maryland, so maybe it's the new IP address/region we're connecting from?

Could the fact that we're using a LinkSys Wireless G range expander (WRE54G v3) have anything to do with this?

Any insight would be much appreciated, He has played this game since Beta, and is a little miffed about this whole ordeal.

Thanks...

The new IP address was the first thing he thought of. We've been living in North Carolina for years and years, and only just moved to Maryland two weeks ago. Strange, though, that MY account hasn't been locked, seeing as how it meets all the same criteria as his accounts.

Silly Blizzard, oh well. Kudos to them, I guess, for trying to be pro-active with account security.

We try, though overall account and computer security if firmly in the hands of the account holder we do try to provide some additional methods of protection when we are able to. I'm not certain why you weren't hit and he was.

Did he receive an e-mail to his registered address? It should contain a link that will allow him to log back in. If no can you give me the name and realm of a character on the account, I'll take a look.

Ah, I see. I don't believe this has to do with a recent move, Zaraka. I'm unable to go into detail but it looks like there was some suspicious activity around a billing issue.

It looks like he submitted his Security Verification though, as soon as that is processed he should hopefully be set.

Hey Vrak, I really appreciate your assistance here. You wouldn't by any chance happen to be able to give me an ETA to pass on to my worse-half, would you? He's pestering my incessantly. O.o

I certainly understand if you cannot. :p

I'd hesitate to give a specific time frame, Zaraka, but my best guess, if there are not complications, would put processing for your husband in probably in the next few hours.
