Am I Allowed To Sell My Guild Vaults?

Hello CSF,

I am looking to transfer almost all my horde characters to another server with the rest of my family, and I would like to know if it's allowed for me to sell my horde (6 tab) and alliance (5 tab) guild banks in-game, for in-game currency.

Further, if this is allowed, I will be using this level 1 horde character to sell both banks, meaning she will likely (hopefully!) make about 10k gold. Will this flag my account as a gold buyer and possibly see me banned for receiving a large sum of gold?

I have submitted a petition in game on my alliance hunter, but me and the family are hoping to transfer sometime tonight and I am not sure what the ticket queues are right now as we just came back after a few months away.

As others have indicated, exchanging a Guild Vault (or essentially leadership of a guild) for in-game gold is not against our policies. However, it is an unsupported transaction and a Game Master may not be able to intervene should something go awry. My best advice would be to clearly state your intentions with the other player, using in-game chat, so that it is clearly documented before taking any action. If we are able to assist, it is vital we have such a chat log to refer to. =)

So long as the gold you receive was obtained legitimately, there shouldn't be an issue. In the rare event you do mistakenly get flagged, you will want to contact our Account Administration department. They can be reached by e-mail at wowaccountadmin@blizzard.com and are quite good about restoring access to your account, but I think it highly unlikely that will be necessary.
