I play WoW since the first day it was released, I believe almost 6 years now and I never, ever, came close to any situation that would go against rules. On the contrary, im always reporting those situations and been example as guild leader to all my guildmates agains that kind of stuff. We are a large community of 270 players, we play serious PvE high end content, participating in every possible way to try to improve the game. And this all to find myself flagged as exploiter of the game economy, suspended from the game when about to zone in, just after killing 25men Halion Heroic. Now the raid i lead is waiting, we will be prolly calling night and be forced to find a new raid leader and main tank for the rest of the week.
The mail I received, World of Warcraft -- Account Action Notification -- Exploitative Activity Found, says "This suspension happened because one or more characters on the account were identified exchanging, or contributing to the exchange of, in-game property (items or gold) for ""real-world"" currency. This exchange process negatively impacts the World of Warcraft game environment by detracting from the value of the in-game economy". I got 72h suspension for what? I insist on saying i didnt buy, sell or deal with any currency. According to blizzard staff that answered my customer call, it prolly was caused by "uncommon" behavior that could point GMs attention. I offered blizzard customer service on the phone every possible detail i could give. We came to conclusion it had nothing to do with my role as GM of my guild im often buying and selling mats related to raids. I always do this as clear as possible, using guild mule with name of the guild, depositing everything sold in the guild bank, having guild bank rules and everything correctly registered not only because of game rules, but mainly to be sure everyone in the guild knows what goes on with guild bank. And lately im quite busy without much time for it.
We concluded it had to do with crafting 19 mechano-hogs with my own gold and mine only, to trade it for a spectral tiger I was about to buy, announced on card game session in this very same forum. Wich seem very ridiculous and shows unbelievable lack of care to look deep into situation by the part of Game Masters. I bought all mats and never sold any of them. Not even 1. I spent around 20k gold buying materials found in AH and needed to craft 19 hogs, and a bit over 200k to get the required pars from the goblin NPC in K3. I dont have any char with engineer profession and only them can see and buy those items. I traded the gold with a guild member, his char name is Law (please dont suspend him too), so he could buy parts sold by the NPC and craft the hogs for me. He took some screen shots of so many mechano-hogs in his bags, laughed at me for paying so much on a rare mount like Spectal Tiger, then traded me the hogs he crafted. I sent them by mail to my personal mule, and returned the mail, so the hogs could be waiting stored at mail box. And thats it. No "currency", no sell, not even resold what i bought. I just traded gold that was needed to pay for items that have specific prices, that dont change, and that i couldnt do myself cause only engineers could do.
This situation is so lame that cant be even argued that it was a suspicious behavior. I payed for a price that doesnt change, no matter what happens, they will always cost the same thing on that NPC. And the game requires that only one of the game professions can have access to them, so i had to trade the gold with a friend, he bought the items, he crafted them, and send me back the very same items turned into a mechano-hog. I didnt even pay him for that, no tips at all, so theres no "subject opinion" involved on the items value. I wanted to give me a "gift" at the end of this expansion after all these years playing the game. And turns out I will prolly lose the chance to have the special mount, as the seller was coming from another server, and i also hurt my guild raids, wich i feel very very bad even not being my fault. Im always the first to ask them to avoid any kind of thing that would risk their presence in the raid and now the whole raid is waiting for me.
Please remove my suspension, and any bad things related to it. I was really proud of never having any issue associated to my account in all these years playing. As a sugestion, allow any player to buy the parts to craft a mechano-hog, specially cause they are very expensive and you see yourself forced to trade a high ammount of gold. Luckly, I will still get my tiger and be able to attend tomorrow raid.
