Does Blizzard Recognize Acronyms Like BoE?

Does Blizzard actually recognize acronyms such as BoE, BoP, MS, or OS when looking in to loot distribution discrepancies?

I am curious as I ran in to one of these problems with a BoE item. I'm curious if I should start asking raid leaders to type out things like bind on equip or main spec. I would assume acronyms would be enough evidence to warrant an item being redistributed since acronyms are also enough to get you in trouble for profanity, so obviously acronyms are recognized, but to what degree?

We understand the terms, Omnomnomelet, we're gamers ourselves so we very much understand the different acronyms surrounding the game. MS and OS are not considered definitive enough when dealing with looting rules and distribution though. We look at mostly if you can equip the item. We do not consider what your spec is or was at the time of the raid or if the item is an upgrade to you. These are not determinations that matter regarding possible scams.

As many know we do not generally become involved in looting disputes. In cases where clear and concise rules have been stated and those rules are not adhered though, we will look into a report to see if it violates our Scam Policy. If it does we will take what actions are appropriate based on our policy though it should be noted that redistribution of loot is not guaranteed.

I hope that helps clarify things a bit.

Q u o t e:

Well the raid I was in stated at the beginning that BoE items were a free roll 1-25. I won the roll. The raid leader neglected these rules and looted to a guildie.

Did you? Did you win with a 1 or a 25? BoE items can be rolled on by anyone /roll 1-25 high roll wins would be a bit clearer. Free roll 1-25 means little.
Q u o t e:

Is this enough evidence to warrant redistribution of an item or will the item just be removed from the person it was looted to?

If you feel a scam took place you are welcome to submit a petition and it will be looked into. As I said though we will take appropriate actions towards those we believe have violated our scam policy. Redistribution of loot is not guaranteed and depending on the circumstance, unlikely to occur.
