A friend of mine has just been hacked and was told his account was permabanned due to the account being comprimised under account sharing rules. Honestly this is utter [>.>], his account was hacked not shared. Its not our fault that the WOW client is so easy to get information from. AION, EVE online, UO, and EQ don't even have half the problem WOW does for this. Now I know about the authenticator and all that but honestly a hash key random number generator, wich by the way has been used to hack accounts, shouldnt be needed to keep a game safe, or if it is, should be included in the product. Please can we get some form of investigation into this occurance. The character name is Entaru on the Blackwater Raiders RP server.

It is only easy to gather information from your account, your client, your PC, if your system is not secure, including numerous other ways this can be done.

I have actually played many other MMO’s myself and I can assure you that security impacts us all, in different ways, depending on which steps the player takes to secure its own account.

I am sorry, but this is incorrect. For information on how an Authenticator actually works, you can find this information here:
