Hello fellow wow community.

I am leveling a character for my brother. i figured it would be in my best interest to give the character an heirloom item, because it makes leveling faster.

Turns out, he found out about it early, and he wants it on his account now.
he does not have a level 80 character, so, when i transfer the character with the heirloom item to his account, will he be able to keep it?

i mean, they are bound to account, but i figured that was just trading to other players.

if someoue could clerify this for me, that would be great :D

(by the way, about the title, if you tell people not to do something, they are way more likely to do it lol)

Though an Heirloom item may help to level the character faster. However, I should point out that you should not be leveling a character for your sibling.

Accounts may be accessed by two people. One being the adult that is registered to the account and the other being a minor child that the registered adult is the parent or guardian of. You and your brother may not access each others account.

We do not permit the sale, gifting or trading of characters or accounts. You should not be transferring a character onto your brothers account, to do so may result in the permanent closure of all accounts involved.

Now, if we were just talking about the item itself, and you wanted to transfer an Heirloom item from one account (that you are registered to) to another account (that you are also registered to) you are welcome to do so. The item itself is not account specific so if you transfer the item with a character the item then belongs to that account and operates as intended.

This thread was temporarily locked so I had an opportunity to get to all the relevant points. :)

i thought the function of the paid character transfer was so you could do that?

The Character Transfer service is to allow the registered user to transfer their characters between realms and/or between accounts that they are registered to. Not to facilitate the transfer of virtual property between two accounts that are not registered to the same user.

An Heirloom item is intended to be a benefit to low level characters on your account, not to gift to others.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough, Lokii.

Actually no. If both accounts are under the same parents name, then the accounts both belong to the parent and characters can be legally transferred between the two accounts.

Technically, yes. The system would allow it. Though the spirit of the rules would be ignored in that case as it doesn't seem the parents are playing the accounts, it is the two individual brothers.
