Do bots really exist?

I'd like to propose that there really are no bots, at least when it comes to gathering.

The reason I think this is, when I see people post on the forums complaining about a gathering bot, it sounds exactly like what I do when I'm mining/herbalisng. I have Gatherer. I have a map of many nodes in a zone. I go from node to node on my map. I don't pay any attention to anyone who tries to talk to me, because frankly I'm fed up with the whiners crying "that's MY node!" Sometimes I spend hours gathering while I focus my attention on something else (a movie for example).

Also, you can't target a node, which means you can't write a macro to gather - which makes a bot pretty much an impossibility. You HAVE to be there moving your mouse to click on the node.

So the next time you wonder why Blizzard isn't doing anything about the bots, now you know. There aren't any bots.

Hi Bluntyb,

Bots do show up in the game. As most of the guys/gals have already described, botting is done in more than one way. We highly encourage everyone to report it by opening an in game ticket. Our game masters will investigate accordingly.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.
