Name change question

Hi!

I have two 80's, one of which I'm going to retire in Cata. I would like to take the name from that character though and give it to my other 80. I read that doing a rename on one char will disallow that name from being used for 3 months. Is that true?

If that's true- if I do delete that 80, will it free up the name immediately for my other character, or will I have to wait? Thank you :)

Yes, the previous name will be locked for 90-days, at which time the name will become available on a first-come first-serve basis.

When characters are deleted, the name will typically be free for use immediately.
