Greetings!
In order to make our servers more efficient, we are taking the time to remove inactive accounts. We are mass mailing all email addresses registered to World of Warcraft accounts to target those that are inactive. If you are currently active in the World of Warcraft, or plan on picking up where you left off the in the future, please continue reading. If you do not foresee yourself ever rejoining us, please disregard this message.
Please take a moment and login to your Battle.net Account to verify and maintain your enjoyable gameplay experience.
Be sure to tell all of your friends and guildmates to check their email, as we want to make sure all active accounts remain playable.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter, and your continued interest in World of Warcraft.
Sincerely,
Account Administration
Blizzard Entertainment
I can't tell if this is spam, but I do have an inactive account (because I own 2) and immediately transferred a character from the inactive to my active. The reason I'm questioning whether or not it IS spam is because it came directly from Blizzard, from an address in my address book. ([email protected])
There is a link in the e-mail, that goes along the lines of battle.net-wowadmin.com
This looks weird to me, but it still boggles my mind that this came from a Blizzard e-mail. Are you guys actually removing inactive accounts? Or are these account phishers getting extremely desperate?
And no, I didn't click the link in the e-mail either. If I ever have to login to battle.net, I do it from my browser, by typing the address myself.
All I know is, if this is, in fact, one of those account hacker/phisher e-mails, seriously, something needs to be done.
