Account Violation Spam?

got a whisper from blirzzcrd on black wing layer yesterday asking me to go to some web sight to verify my account or it will be deleted? do i realy need to do this or is this guy phishing? I assume this is spam but i just wanted to be sure it's not real. I sent a email to blizzard and have yet to receve a responce.

The whisper was indeed a phishing attempt, Yomomasofat. We have an awesome support page about phishing whispers, how to tell if you are being whispered by a Blizzard Representative, and how to utilize the “Report Spam” feature which you can find here:

I received an in-game whisper telling me to visit a website to claim a free reward. Is this a scam?
