Inherited Insignia of the Horde/Alliance

How does this not change when sending it in the mail to the opposite faction.

I bought the item, sent it to my alliance character on the same server, and to my surprise, I can't use it. If this is intended, that is fine. What bothers me is the simple fact that there is no clear warning that you can not use this item on the opposite faction. Many items in the game like mounts and TOC drops are "faction specific". But they will change the second you faction change into their equivalents. The only place to find any information on this is at the website under faction changes, which isn't even related to mailing heirloom items. Is it wrong for one to assume this will work, since all the other BOA gear and many items in game currently work like that too?

Luckily for me, I had a GM change it to an alliance trinket. That is great, and I was appreciative of the help, but what really got to me was the little note that this ticket had essentially used up my one "GM swap or reimbursements" for heirloom items. Why am I being penalized for something that is in no way clearly defined .

After doing some research, I noticed that information on this subject is spotty at best, and there is no reason why a customer should have to go digging through pages of blue responses (all of which seem to be different then the last), sorting through the armory, or attempting to apply rules from faction changes to something completely different.

Now I feel that when I truly do make an honest mistake with an item, I won't have that ability to get a swap or reimbursement.

There is no set number. They just say that to prevent abuse of the system. If you had a legitimate reason to use one up, they will not penalize you for it. I'd say this would be a legit one.

Correct. :)

There is no reason you should, Werkshawp. If check out our support page or use the In-Game Knowledge base it usually takes very little effort to find information on our Restoration policy. If you visit our Support page and enter the word Restoration in the search field it's the 4th result. It probably should be the first but search functions are wonky.

As Bullchanon said, for any restoration we provide, be it from a player error, compromise, or a known issue, we provide that warning. It is simply meant to inform you that all restorations are limited and though we try to help that may not be possible in each and every case. Sorry for the confusion.
