PvP boots mislooted, need assistance.

I ran VoA 25 (49138488) and the Relentless Gladiator's Treads of Dominance dropped. I rolled a 100 and the next highest roll was 61 as I remember. Everyone, including the 61 roller congratulated me. The master looter, someone I have trusted in the past, mislooted to the 61 rolling player. I requested a trade, and he replied he would after the next boss. As you probably have guessed, he hearthed and logged immediately afterwards, even closing two trade windows I opened with him to make his escape.

I opened a ticket, which was eventually serviced this evening. The GM who attempted to assist me used the old "the player who received the item has to open a ticket" chestnut from back before such items could be traded among eligible players. This wasn't a simple misloot: The player in question recognized my right to the loot, the raid leader also acknowledged my high roll and apologized. This is a scam issue at this point, something the GM refused to entertain, and wouldn't even give me the courtesy of an escalation to someone who could see past the knee-jerk reactions to mislooting.

I'm hoping a Blue may be able to investigate further. The boots would be nice for the times I PvP, and while this is definitely not the end of the world, I would appreciate getting the gear I was intended to receive.

Please note: I'm not ITT nerdraging, using the player or the GM's names. I'm fairly certain the Blues here have the ability to get that information without me spewing hate with the burning intensity of a thousand white-hot suns. I also know that when the spirit of the game is being honored, mis-looting is a much more simple matter of trading items: Hearthing and logging does not seem to jibe with that.

Thank you for your consideration.

Well, Kapowder, I just reviewed your chat with our Game Master.

75% of your side of the conversation was lambasting them for a 'canned response', (which it was not he explained our policy on this) and demanding to speak to someone of higher authority - as well as accusing them of incompetency and assembly-line mentality pushing petitions through with no care for our customers.

None of that is true - not in the least.

That's probably not the best way to present an issue to one of our staff when they are trying to explain a situation to you.

I'm terribly sorry you aren't pleased with the answer you were given, but that doesn't make that answer incorrect.

In a case of a simple misloot, with no evidence of a scam - once the player has the item, it is up to them to do the right thing if they will. They are under absolutely no obligation to turn that item over if they wish to keep it.

I know that's not what you want to hear, but that is current policy. If you'd like to see that changed, I'd recommend visiting our Suggestion Forum and presenting your argument to our policy makers and developers.

I would also caution you that calling players out on the forums is against our Code of Conduct and could potentially result in your own suspension of posting privileges. Likewise, doing so in trade chat - depending on your actual actions, could also result in repercussions if it's seen as harassment or spam.

Those are very nice boots, I understand you are upset and would like to have them. No Game Master ever wants to say no to a request, and it's always fine to ask - but sometimes an answer is going to be, No, I'm sorry we cannot facilitate that request.
