Body spam

We have had body spammers outside of the org ah for days now. I've opened numerous tickets about this. Please, do something. Everytime you try to trade with someone you get one of them. Do something please. Its getting really annoying. They are flashing their websites name, giving thumbsup, all kinds of ignorant things. Thank you.

I suspect that the Game Master who answered your petition may have misinterpreted the type of spam you were reporting. Report Spam should really only be used on those who are spamming in the chat window.

The floating corpse/body spam you are reporting, however, should continue to be addressed by putting in an in-game petition including the words 'corpse' or 'body' and 'spam.' Please also let us know where and approximately when you see this happening.

I understand it's really frustrating - it is for us too - but it helps our Game Masters out a lot for you to continue to place petitions regarding these issues. =)

[email protected] is alot faster than the in game ticket system.

Not entirely true, Flob. [email protected] is simply another way to submit a petition. It is not generally faster or slower than submitting one in-game.

If you're not going to do anything about it, then why should we keep petitioning? At least let us know that you can't do anything about it so we can decide if we want to keep paying for this spam advertisement.

I absolutely understand it's frustrating and it makes you upset - in the post you quoted from me, I clarified that. We don't like the floating body spammers either, and in addition to addressing the related individual petitions, we are working on a larger scale resolution to this issue. However, in the mean time, we ask that you help us help you by letting us know about the more persistent instances. It gives us data that we need to pursue this bigger solution. While you may not feel we do anything about it, trust me when I say we are very concerned about this situation, and we are working to fight it.

But we need your help to do so.

Q u o t e:

Repeated petitions about the same problem, which you are obviously aware of, do nothing but clog up the petition system for others.

Not exactly true, Krashcart. If there is an ongoing issue that needs our attention, it is most important that you inform us about it. Having our queue times go up is not quite as bad as allowing this behavior to run rampant. Not reporting an issue will make that issue worse. While reporting to us every instance of this spam is not recommended, as we do have a form of detection to have these messages removed, if you notice there has been a particularly long occurrence on your realm, then it is imperative you let us know.

Q u o t e:
You could do something really novel like put a GM in the affected cities and actually catch them yourselves.

I'm afraid placing a Game Master in each city 24/7 is simply impractical, Krashcart. Consider for a moment the number of North American and Oceanic servers alone (230+). Multiply that number by two, as in a minimal situation, we might only have one Game Master monitoring per faction. Now, multiply THAT number by at least 3, as to cover a 24 hour shift, assuming Game Masters work an 8 hour per day shift, that is how many you would need on staff to do so.

You end up with a number in the thousands for how many bodies it would take to just monitor that situation. And that is now no longer taking into account our current staff that addresses petitions 24/7 - the petitions we need from players like you to let us know about these situations, amongst other requests for assistance.

Q u o t e:
No disrespect intended so excuse me if my post sounds upset......it is.

Quite understandable, and I do thank you for your thoughts and civility while discussing this issue. =)
