Battlenet and WoW Hacked while changing email

To whomever reads this,

I don't know how else to go about trying to get my battlenet and WoW accounts back, other than asking a friend to post this little note for me. My WoW account, then my battlenet got hacked back in mid July and have been trying since then to get my accounts back. The problem is my battlenet, and thus my wow account, is tied to a now closed email address. I have no way of emailing from it and I was in the midst of getting it moved to a new email when I was hacked, silly me forgot the secret question and answer. I've tried email and calling both, email had led me around in loops (Customer service tells me to email billing, billing tells me to email tech support, tech support sends me an automated 'you must email us from the address your account is linked to' message). Trying to call customer service has led to me getting hung up on due to busy lines, very frustrating indeed.

Just to give an idea of how much I enjoy Blizzard's products, I've been playing WoW since February of 2005 through all the expansions; I have Starcraft and its expansion, as well as Warcraft 3 and its expansion as well. I’ve been watching Cataclysm videos and those look amazing. That being said, I don’t want to have to start completely over, I am somewhat attached to the characters I have, not to mention the cost associated with having to buy all new disks.

If anything can be done from here, I would very much appreciate it. Otherwise I’m regretfully hanging up my adventurer’s cloak and moving on from Azeroth.

I am sorry to hear of the compromise, Jenae.

I know this must be a frustrating situation but also somewhat discouraging feeling as though you are in a non-stop revolving loop. Thank you for taking the time to post your concern and I will gladly point you in the proper direction.

First and foremost, be sure to secure your computer. We cannot stress this enough. We have multiple programs listed on our support site, most of which are free or at least free to try. I would also recommend reviewing the thread Syndri posted, which you can find here:

Since the email address associated on the Battle.net account is one you do not have access to, you will need to contact Account Services by phone. For security reasons, Account Services cannot update account details via email, nor can provide account specific information to an email address that is not registered to the Battle.net account.

I realize the queue times for Account Services can be long at times. You may wish to try contacting them when they first open, as the hold time may be shorter.

It’s awesome you have been a Blizzard fan for a number of years. I myself started out playing Diablo on Playstation, which I still have. :)
