Advertising in the Game with Bots

I don't complain much. Really I don't. But, this is one of those things that really needs to stop. There are a series of Bots, all level 1, on my server in Ironforge that like to make those floating in the air symbols and advertisements that are getting down right annoying. I bought a Toy Train today and about to get one of those dance Piccolos for this reason, it seems to stop them. I don't play this game to be advertised to be a gold seller or any service other then Blizzard, hell it is your game after all. This needs to stop. In fact they way they stack in midair I would expect some kind of hacking involved of the game world that shouldn't be naturally done.

So please Blizzard offer us some way to report these people and get them removed for good please.

We completely understand your views on this subject, Starrynite, and completely agree with you. Unfortunately, wanting them gone and implementing measures to eliminate them is an entirely different matter.

They are not "hacking" per se, but are using mechanics that are already in-game. Our Developers are working on a way to prevent this type of advertisement but this much more easily said than done. The trick is implementing preventative measures without negatively impacting legitimate players.

In the meantime please report this when you see it, there are other measures in the works but we have members of our In-Game Support team that are keeping an eye out for this reports and will address them as quickly as possible.

When reporting make sure you include keywords like "Body Spam" or "Body Advertisement", also include the general location (i.e. Stormwind Bank, Orgrimmar Auction House, etc...).

Believe me, we don't like these any more than you do.

Q u o t e:
Will do and thanks for the response. Wish I could give you names of the characters involved, but they disappeared not long after I went back to edit my ticket.

The names are not necessary, as long as we have a general idea of where to look we can get them taken care of.
