Account upgrade.

I have a out of the box good key code verified by blizzard to be good for an upgrade for burning crusade and it will not upgrade when i put the key in. It says 'an error has occured". I got off the phone with a rep last night that told me to wait a week. If nothing works out email them. Surely there is something else that can be done. I was told earlier on a diff post that my account may be in a limbo do to a RaF situation but everything was finalized for the vanilla update. Just trying to see if I should just wait for the week or if there is anything anyone on here can do. Havent received any emails in saying payment was bad or anything of the sort in my email. Thank you and I hope to get some insight.
