I recently updated the launcher to 4.0.0.1837 after being told by my friend that there was a new patch out. After the update i get the error message of "Launcher cannot obtain patching information. Please check your Internet configuration."

This is the steps I followed.

1) Load Blizzard Launcher 4.0.0.1817 (WoW Version 4.0.0.12803)
2) Launcher downloads a file named "wow-4.0.0.1817-to-4.0.0.1837-enUS-tools-patch.exe" to the Temp folder inside my wow beta installation.
3) Launcher applies this patch and reloads.
4) The error message appeared at this point.

I erased the following folders within the wow folder in case of any possible corruption after I encountered the error.

\Cache
\Data\Cache
\WTF
\Interface
\Logs
\Temp

To note, the Interface folder contains only those items created the World of Warcraft Client when it launches each time.

Here is an image to the launcher error.

And this is what the log file for the launcher has listed.

It sounds like a permissions problem. If you are on Vista/Windows 7, can you try running the launcher as admin?

Q u o t e:
I had the same error message. I changed "enUS" to "enGB" in the config.wtf file and it worked fine after that.

But I'm EU, so I don't know if it will work for you.

Ah so it is this. Can you guys check to see if you have the right region in your config.wtf files?

Here's where you can find the config.wtf
[World of Warcraft Beta Install Path]\WTF\config.wtf

(Thanks for the info Zidane!)

If you run WoW.exe once, it'll create those files again. Can you try that before restoring?
