Loot Gone Wrong ! @_@ Help Plz

I got loot in ICC 25, I rolled against a DK, He won, But the Raid Leader gave it to me.
The raid leader was an idoit.
He tought DK's should only use 2 One handed weapons.
Next thing I knew the weapon was in my bag. I had my BF sitting next to me whom was raidiing with my at the time, saying..keep it...it wasnt you...The RL messed up. not you.
I want to give the loot back to the DK. Is there any way possible to do this.
If it cant be given back, I would like to keep it ! I did put alot of gold into it. !
Because the RL did mess up.

I got a lil confused at first and kept it for a while, gemmed/enchanted it.
A 1000g got put into it in the end.
(( If at all possible, can I get my gold back ? ))

But all of this !#*! has bought me nothing but trouble, I had ppl telling me to give it back, and a ton of ppl who are my friends telling me I should just keep it.
It isnt your fault, but the raid leaders. * They all said to me keep the axe *

I kinda left with my main to another place.

YES I know I look wrong in this matter but I want to make it right, I also want a GM's word on the matter.

Am I wrong for keeping it ?
Was the raid leader at fault also ?
PLEASE HELP !

Only the Master Looter is responsible for loot distribution, if item ended up going to you and you do not wish to part with it, that is completely up to you. In cases where a scam may have taken place and you were in collusion with the Master Looter, only then may we become involved.

Normally you will have up to 2 hours of played time to transfer the item to another qualifying raid member, if you did indeed wish to go that route.

If you are unable to transfer the item for some reason or another you may submit an in-game petition and our In-Game Support department. As already noted by others if you have already gemmed/enchanted the item though we may not be able to refund the purchase of the item.

Now it looks like you have submitted a petition regarding this matter, in the first you neglected to include information regarding where the item were to go so we were unable to progress further without that information. Now that you have done that our staff will look into your request. Given when this item was originally received and that you have not only enchanted it but Faction Changed I'm not entirely certain if we'd be able to help but they'll let you know.

One note: We don't actually see the text of a petition until the Game Master pulls it to address it. Saying you need to speak with someone asap has no impact on how quickly the petition is addressed.
