This add on can post 20 auctions a second and people use it to post 1000's of auctions. It also auto cancels and reposts anyone who undercuts you so your always the lowest buyout. Is this allowed? I see several people using this program for their banking and it is a huge advantage.

Q u o t e:
The way this program works is you can click one button and it will scan all your auctions and automatically cancel and repost 1 copper under the lowest priced. So people post 1000's of auctions and sit at the ah and do this all day. Some people do use bots to run this. I check and repost manually and have to deal with these people all the time. Just wondering if this is allowed.

As many have already posted, I believe there's a misunderstanding between what this addon does and what would be considered "botting."

  • An addon that allows you to scan prices in large batches is not automation.
  • An addon that allows you to post many stacks of the same item in bulk at a price you input is not automation (and can in fact be done through our own unmodified User Interface now).
  • An addon that compares your prices to others that are currently up is not automation.

If an addon did, indeed, do what you are describing, which to cancel auctions, remove those auctions from the mail, search auctions, and repost those auctions at a price lower than all others posted without any user interaction at all, then it would very well be automation, and thus botting. Both Auctionator and Auctioneer as I have experienced are incapable of doing all this on their own.
