Emergency - Block harassing channel invites?

Hello how do you block Channel Invites?

For example, a person can create a chat channel in the game, and then send out chat channel invites, which can be used for harassment, gold farmer spam, etc., by setting a specific channel name.

When somebody sends out a channel invite, it pops up a box "XXXXXX has invited you to join the channel 'YYY'" just like a guild join or arena join prompt box.

How can you disable that so I don't get that popup box for channel invites?

I ask because this situation has been causing harassment that is unreportable to a GM due to usage of special characters in the person's name (which you cannot click the name into a GM report window).

Report and /ignore are your friends here.

If you'd like to see further functionality added to the game, by all means - please do visit our Suggestion Forums and recommend this.

Alt characters can be challenging, but they can be created.

On many Windows machines there is a tool called Character Map that will give you the conversion codes for the high ASCII characters.

Q u o t e:

Are you seriously saying that a player should suffer through complete game stopping disruption, load up some external tool, in a extremely poor attempt to add a player to an ignore list, when that player can spend seconds to create a new character and re-attack the player?

No, I'm suggesting you present your issue to our developers on the Suggestion Forum.

Game Masters can't make changes to the game, nor can WE stop them from re-rolling a trial account.

I gave you an option to allow you to /ignore by finding out how to create the characters.

An option.

*I* cannot stop this for you, nor can any Game Master. We can certainly followup if it's reported.

I don't know what about that answer you find less than honest, but this is really all I can offer.

Q u o t e:
- Provide an existing in-game option to resolve this, if applicable

Other than /ignore, there really isn't a way to turn this off I am aware of

Q u o t e:
- Bring visibility of this issue to the game developers and pass on and provide contact for this issue and a fix

And I recommended you bring this to the attention of our Developers in the proper forum

Q u o t e:
- Provide information towards or an actual in-game addon or macro that can be used to disable or automatically close all /CINVITE dialog windows

We don't recommend addons, nor support them. Such a thing may very well exist, but I am not aware of one personally, nor would I be able to recommend one if I were - although our regulars certainly can.

As far as another program - Character Map is a standard part of windows. If you don't care of avail yourself of it, that's certainly fine. I do find it a little odd you are asking for addons yet reluctant to use a tool readily available on most systems.
