I haven't been on my account in several months, then yesturday I recieved an email stating that my account will be closed due to exploit of the economy. I seriously believe my account has been comprimised and have taken actions to secure my computer as best as I can. Can a GM look into it further and let me know what is going on, I have emailed Blizzard Admin and just waiting for a reply at the moment. Any help is appreciated.

The affected account has the character, brianngo on Darrowmere.

Q u o t e:
Also since my account has been compromised including the SECRET QUESTION on battlenet which I can't change, would i contact billing first to change it or do this after I have gotten my account back?

One of the first steps is of course making certain your system and email are secure.

Under Battle.net - changing the email address also changes your account name. I'd recommend that as a good first step.

It's not uncommon for accounts to suffer account actions when compromised - they don't steal them to do 'nice' things with them. Reporting this promptly will let us try to get your account back into shape - even if you don't plan on returning just yet.

While a phish could easily be at the root of this, I wouldn't discount other possibilities. The lastest action is very new - but this goes back at least a week, and it looks like there was an issue back in July as well.

This sticky may be useful.

You may also want to look into getting an authenticator for your account. It's no substitute for good security habits, but it will help keep them out of your WoW account.

Oh what happened in July? Is there a way to lockdown your account like vacation mode. I will look into getting an authenticator as soon as this problem is solved.

We don't normally lock accounts, but you could certainly contact us and inquire to this possibility.

Note: Paid time continues even under a locked status. This may keep someone out, but it's not a way to suspend your playtime - does that make sense?

Try accessing your account now, Brian.

All we need now is confirmation of security from you. Just to be absolutely certain we have your assurance that security issues have been tended to.

You can fill out this webform, and they will get to this as soon as possible, it may take another day or so.
