My name was flagged for a rename?

i have a character named gayzombie.. now HOW is that offensive? there is nothing wrong with HAPPY zombies.. thats right Gay can mean Happy it doesnt just mean somone who is homosexual id like to keep the name because it is clever because my character is a deathknight

Well, to be clear. We would be unable to change a name unless it was found to be in violation of our Terms of Use. If you simply wanted to change the name you would need to use the Paid Character Name Change service.

If you felt you had a name that violated our policies you are welcome to report it, we are far more lenient when a player reports their own name. Otherwise, if someone feels that your name is in violation they can submit an in-game petition or write to [email protected] and we will review it.

Please understand that our primary goal is to remove obviously inappropriate names or as in the ops case, a name that though not necessarily deemed as offensive but can cause many issues just the same.

As in with all actions that are taken be they naming or harassment violations, if you disagree with the penalty the only point of contact available is our Account Administration department.
