Stolen Mekgineer's Chopper

A real life friend of mine recently spent a great deal of time and trouble to craft a mekgineer's chopper with the intent to give it to me as a gift for one of my alts. Unfortunately, while trying to trade the item to me, she accidentally opened the trade window with another player (who was standing next to my toon) and hit the trade button. The other player accepted the trade before she could take it back, and refused to answer either of our pleas to return the item and promptly went offline. We both put in tickets to a gm explaining the situation. A gm responded to us the next day saying that they didn't know much about the mekgineer's chopper, but they felt it was intended as a gift to the other player, and she simply regretted giving it up afterwards. (Completely ignoring the fact that she neither knew nor ever had any contact with the other player before this incident.) The bottom line was that the chopper would NOT be returned, and the other player would NOT be forced to pay for it either. My experiences with Blizzard's customer service team in the past have always been excellent, but I can't help but feel that this particular gm dropped the ball and failed to live up to Blizzard's standards.

As others have mentioned, it appears to be that your friend did agree to trade this item to that player. Perhaps not in text, but by putting the item in the trade window and selecting Accept, they were acknowledging that they action they were taking was the correct one, and the other player accepted the offered trade.

Understand that this situation is different from others mentioned - exchange of emblems, deleted items/characters, etc. These are all services that we choose to provide sparingly, and none are guaranteed.
