Chargeback from a 'hacked' account?

I'm trying to reactivate my husband's WoW account, and when I logged him in to battlenet, it brought up a message that the account was temporarily closed and that he recieved an email.

I guess it's just the typical Chargeback notification email saying that we owe $14.99

WE have not activated this account in a year (give or take). I found out a few months ago when I started playing again that his account had been compromised and reactivated by whoever got in to the account.
We eventually got the account restored back to us, and then just let the time that the 'hacker' put on to it expire and haven't touched the account since then.

Are we going to be responsible for this chargeback mess?

I would like to take a quick look at the account, Aha. I may be able to save you a phone call to Account Services. : )

Can you please provide me a character name and realm on your husband’s account?

Any update by any chance?

The music on the phone is starting to drive me crazy :P

Sorry for the delay, Aha. Researching this issue took a bit longer than anticipated.

This situation is a bit sticky and will require your husband to speak with an Account Services representative directly. Be sure your husband is available to speak with someone as they will be unable to discuss the specific details with you.

Sorry I was unable to provide more information for you. : (
