What does Blizzard do with Banned Accounts?

I suspect this question was asked facetiously, but I'll answer with some semblance of seriousness. :)

Contrary to popular misconception, we neither resell nor liquidate accounts that have been banned; instead, they are held indefinitely in the event that the registered user is successful in his or her efforts to regain access to the affected account. This, of course, is after we put all of the characters in a [White Wedding Dress] and leave them in the middle of the opposite faction's capital city. Now that's what I call punishment.
