Everyone knows that security is a problem due to those that don't know how to secure their computer and account but Blizzard account admins seem to think being vigilant to the point that they are banning users accounts on even false reports. I have been banned over and over for recruiting users to join one of my guilds. I'm at the point now where when they suspend me, it's for 3 hours. I'm begining to ask myself why do I pay Blizzard for this and I'm sure I'm not the only frustrated user. Blizzard account admins will be the demise of WoW.

You don't happen to be spam inviting random people or spamming trade/general to get people to join, do you?

Nice try, but you're wrong...again!

What do you call the unsolicited e-mails you receive advertising medicine, software, banking and other services? You call that spam, do you not, Klaatu?

So in essence, an unsolicited whisper regarding joining someone's guild could very well be categorize in the same way, couldn't it?

Folks, I understand that most of you are trying to help but please keep in mind the tone in which you convey your message. If you put someone on the defensive they are more likely to ignore or misinterpret your advice.

Ordie, you are mostly correct, what you were doing wouldn't necessarily be considered spam by our Terms of Use definition. However, the Report Spam feature was implemented as a way for the denizens of a realm to determine what type of messaging may or may not be appropriate for the realm, above and beyond our policies. If your statements are deemed unwelcome by those on your realm, well, the results speak for themselves.

The system was mostly meant to address illicit advertisement and spamming ( several lines of the same or similar text in a short amount of time), it can be used to report the Bodypart [ability] spam that occurs from time to time as well. If you wish to dispute any actions that have been taken against your account as a result of these reports you are welcome to write to our Account Administration department and they will take a look. If you feel that the Report Spam system needs to be adjusted in some way feedback is always welcome and we encourage you to post in the Suggestion forum so our Developers and policy makers to review.

In addition Vrakthris, I almost daily see a ton of level 1 toons come into Stormwind on Misha and spell some gold selling website with their bodies floating in the air. That tells me there is a major failure in customer support, development, security and account admin. You are focusing on noob GM's trying to build a guild more than what you all should consider a major embarrassement to Blizzards failure!

Is that what it tells you, Ordie? It tells me that you may not completely understand what is happening in these cases or what it takes to address such issues.

Now the overall issue is being looked into by our Developers, those who are advertising in-game are actually exploiting mechanics that are in place and used by most normal players. This is why it may take while to have the overall issue addressed as our Developers do not want to negatively impact legitimate players. I

In the meantime submitting an in-game petition with the words "Body Spam" or "Body Advertisement" will usually allow our staff to quickly address these characters. You only need to include a general location as to where they are (i.e. Stormwind Bank, etc...).

It also tells me that even after everything that has been said in this thread that you may not understand how you received the penalties you did. It appeared you did in some of your previous posts but perhaps I was mistaken.

All they were doing is trying to make the game better for those that a noob Guild master trying to build a guild was bugging - lol. There are beyond too many hackers, Gold Sellers and perverts. Maybe Blizzard bit off more than they chew. It's is obvious they are focusing on the wrong things to improve game play. I

So because there is bank robbery you should be allowed to run a red light until all of those activities are stopped?

I think this thread has run its course. Thank you all for your participation.
