Hacked, I think it's safe now?

So I was hacked in May. (I know it was my fault) The hacker put an authenticator on the account. However, I later received an e-mail from [email protected] saying all my gold and items were restored. Is my account safe to go back to? Or will I simply pay for my game time and have it stolen away? Sorry if I'm coming off as a total noob, and thanks in advance.

Edit: Forgot to include the authenticator was removed and I can log into my Battle.net account now.

Edit2: I did change my pass once the authenticator was removed. However, I never contacted Blizzard. (I thought that was a good reason to take a break :/) So I thought maybe the hacker got my account restored so I would buy more game time, then they could take control again? any help is appreciated. :/

That really depends on how they got your information - and if that avenue is still open to them.

The most common ways are malware, compromised email accounts, social engineering - including phish attempts of many varieties and reusing the same password/ID combination in other places...especially on websites.

This sticky may be useful.

You may also want to look into getting an authenticator for your account. It's no substitute for good security habits, but it will help keep them out of your WoW account.
