So i have taken a hiatius from wow and now i have returned after over a year of playing. When I try to log into my account i get this authenticator thing popping up that I didnt put on their. I was told by a friend they did it to add extra security and you need a authenticator to log in well i dont have one as I never put it on my account and now i cannot log in and upgrade my account to WOTLK to re gain my characters and start playing again.

I created a trial account so i can post on this forum. I have already tried contacting Billing support by phone but they told me wait time would be around a 30 minutes. I stayed on the line for over a hour and a half and nothing. Is there anything I can do to quickly fix this problem like within hours not days?

WE didn't add that, Aramilxx - but someone would have. If it wasn't you - that means your account was compromised.

Contacting Billing would be the more effective way of getting back into control of this account. If at all possible, they will verify your identity on the phone.

That will be step one in getting this resolved, getting back into control of the account.

i understand that but the problem is that i dont have any of the old information for my account all i have is the name is its under no address, or cd key for the original wow or anything like that and the name on the account is different then my real name so if i sent in my ID like they would ask it would be completely different

Then there may be an issue.

I'd call and speak with them. If the account isn't under your name, that could very well be problematic. There is a reason they are supposed to be setup under your legal name. If you ever have to recover an account, really hard to prove you are a fictitious character.

well the account was created under my cousin as i did not have a credit card at the time a couple years ago. So I have all that information just not his old address as he has moved multiple times and what not over the time i had the account. I didnt think to change the name or anything as i didnt think it would be a problem to verify the account.

You cannot change the name - if this was created under your cousin's name - it's your cousin's account.

Anyone can pay for the account, the account name is the account holder.
