I have reviewed the account, Omnisaint, and it appears as though your friend did not use the Recruit-A-Friend invitation. The account they upgraded and added the Game Card to was a trial account, just not through Recruit-A-Friend. The Recruit-A-Friend account you are referencing is actually linked to the Battle.net account you are posting from and has not been upgraded.
