I just got an obviously fake email asking me to verify my account information. I don't buy gold or visit any sites related to wow other than the official forums. I don't do facebook, myspace, guild websites, or any of the things suggested in the stickey and I am quite disturbed that my email address seems to be available to hackers/scamers. So how did they get my email address?
Blog sites, as well as other social networking websites, can be used to farm this information where it can be used for Warcraft and Beyond, Fodder. I would recommend coming up with a unique account name to use for your Battle.net e-mail address and nothing else. That would be the best way to try and keep your e-mail secure.
