Question about celestial steed code

I want to give my friend a celestial steed for their birthday, but they play on the EU server , can a code bought in the US store work? or would I be better off just sending them the money to buy it themselves, because my bank charages a rather large fee to buy things in non US currancy.

Correct. As far as I know these codes work like many of the others and they are region specific.

Now you said they play on "the" EU server. Do you mean they play the EU version of the game? I just want to be clear because some people believe that the Oceanic Realms are on a different version of the game and confuse it with EU.
