Recently my account was hacked and I only just now have regained control of it, but I have received mail about adding an authenticator to my account and getting a free pet..

I never added this function to my account so this must have been done by the person, or persons, misusing my account. What can be done, if anything?

That indicates the compromiser added one while in control.

You can delete the corehound, you'll get another if you add your own authenticator (which I highly recommend).

He'll disappear on his own eventually if there isn't one on the account.
