If you are able to summon and grant then you are able to receive the triple experience bonus. You must be grouped, within 4 levels of one another, in close proximity to one another and the encounter/quest can not be trivial to either of you in order to qualify for this bonus.

Meaning if you and your friend kill something that is worth 100 experience, you will each get 50. If you are receiving the triple experience bonus though that will be multiplied and you will actually receive 150.
