Having trouble merging accounts (edit)

Ok so I want to transfer my shaman from my old account to my current one (this one I'm posting on with my mage). But my old account was closed prior to the battle.net requirement. Does this mean I have to create a new b.net account and link it with my closed account just to transer my shaman over?

EDIT: As told, I tried to merge my old account with my b.net account but it wasn't working.

What I did was login, which worked. Then I clicked on "Merge World of Warcraft Account". But when it said "WoW account name" I tried entering my account name (the unmerged one), then password (which I know).

Is there something I did wrong?

Unfortunately non-merged accounts can only transfer to other non-merged accounts where the registered user is the same.

If you want to transfer a character from your other account you should be able to just merge the account with your current Battle.net account (the one you are posting on). That should allow you to transfer immediately.

If you create a new Battle.net account and merge your old account to that one you will have to wait a 30 day cooldown period before you'll be able to transfer off of the account.

Are you getting a particular error? Have you tried clearing your cookies/cache and reloading your browser? Perhaps trying an alternate browser?

Are you certain you are entering your World of Warcraft account name and that you are doing so correctly?

Can you give me the name and realm of a character on the account, I can take a look.

Hmm. Unfortunately I can't really ask what account name you are attempting, it is best to keep that information off the forums.

It does seem that you transferred a character from this account to the other so it may be in your transaction history. Use the following link and see if it lists the information.

Yes, you are correct, my shaman who I'm trying to get back was originally made on this account, then transferred. The target account name on the transaction history page was the same name I was using to link my b.net account with, which isn't working.

Unfortunately, I really am not able to provide any account specific information. I have no real way of conveying what you'd need or properly verifying your information. If you continue to have an issue, Volvolicus, you may want to give our Billing department a call. They should be able to give you the information you need.
