Hacked ):

Hi. I was recently hacked by gold selling site. When I found out I quicky changed my password but before I could, they got me suspended for 3 days and sold all of my items (on my alts too), and took all my gold. Would it be possible to get my items restored? If it is possible, is the only way to open a ticket to talk to a GM?
Thanks for any and all help! (:

I'm sorry to hear that your account was compromised Greatwarrior. You seem to be on the right track attempting to identify and remove of any malware on your computer. We have a sticky post and a knowledge base article explaining the steps that you should take in a situation like this.

If you have already secured your computer and changed your password, the next step is to contact our in-game support staff by submitting an in-game petition. When filing the petition, please make sure that you describe your issue thoroughly. Including details such as approximate time/date when your account was compromised, any characters, items or currency missing, guild bank, any unauthorized paid services issued (transfers, name changes, re-customizations). I wish you the best, and hope our in-game staff can get back on your feet asap.

Q u o t e:
Thank you for the help Khromuk (: Just to clarify, if i contact a GM in came with a ticket would it be possible to restore my items and gold?

It depends on what our in-game support staff can find after they investigate the matter.

Also, Bulreporting did bring a good point. In addition, check this out this article that our main Community team wrote up a while back ( http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/antigold.html ). It's a great read, and explains how things like gold buying impacts our game negatively.
