Neutral AH "stealing"

Recently I put some gear in the neural AH to transfer over to my alts. What I didn't know what there is some scanning sofware that "people" can use that detects a low price and alerts them so they can buy it as fast as possible. Because of this, the cloak I made so I could gear up an alt across the faction is now in the hands of another and most likely being sold.

That other "person" did not make the item and will now profit at the expense of my time. This situation has killed any more desire to try and upgrade my alts being I do not want items "stolen" again. I will not be able to use my leveled professions to support my alts across a faction other than send out BoA gear.

Can this scanning software be slowed down by a lot? Can it be broken or rendered to a point where players can't really profit by having a low level toon sitting at a location and all they do is scan to rip off other players? I typed the name in wrong and in the time I was correcting that mistake (3 seconds or less!) the item was bought. Is this really fair? At least hamper the search so that player at least needs to know what to look for other than a nice juicy list and even a sound event to alert the player to buy.

I could care less if some of you do not think this is stealing and I am not going to get into that. All I know is some gear I hoped to use on an alt is now gone and some loser is using my time to make gold.

The simple facts that boil down are this. I no longer have the item and some bottom dwelling scum sucker is making a gold profit.

Thank you Blizzard.

It should be noted, Alyissa, that the Neutral Auction House was never intended to be used as a means to transfer items or gold to alternate characters. It is not a prohibited activity but neither is it supported. If someone is able to "snipe" an item that you placed up for a fairly low price then that is their gain. Our Developers introduced Bind on Account items, which are intended to help you level alternate characters.

The program you are referring to is an addon, not a program. This program doesn't actually purchase the item for you, it simply makes the person aware that there is X item up for Y price, the person still has to purchase the item manually.

If you believe that changes should be made to either prohibit such an addon or limit it's functioning you are welcome to post in the Suggestion forum. It should be noted though that the Neutral Auction House has very few items listed on it, compared to a normal Auction House so it takes very little effort to search for such deals. Addon or not the odds of someone else seeing your item up for sale is pretty good depending on the activity level when you place it.
