Name unavailable after deleting character

So, I had a character with the name I wanted on my server. I decided I wanted to reroll it a different class and when I created the new character it came up as "That name is unavailable", which is odd because I just deleted the character with that name.

Also strange is that if I do an armory search this name doesn't come up as having any characters (It's somewhat common so I would be certain other people would have it on different servers).

I tried clearing my WTF and cache and that didn't help. Also neither faction can /friend the name. Help?

Well, I'm not certain why this won't let you create a new toon with this name - I'm not showing that one currently in use on Dalaran.

I'd give this a try after maintenance. It's entirely possible things just haven't cleared out yet.
