Ambigious GM response to PvP "exploit"

Can we get a reply for this? It's extremely relevant to my and many other PvP'ers interests. Basically, what happened to the guy is he was killing people from the wall that overlooks the WG vendor after the battle. Any player can mount up and reach this wall, any player can easily out of range a player on this wall. The GM said he was "terrain exploiting".

Frankly, it seems a little ridiculous that this could be considered a terrain exploit, to the point of absurdity, can we get a response to this?

As I'm unable to respond to a post outside of this forum I will pull that post here. I will be removing the links to the conversation though.

Edit: OK. Perhaps not. It looks like one of our moderators took it out before I could move it. I will post my response here then. Give me a few.

The Game Master in question may not have fully understood the situation or simply been confused. We'll go with confused. I highly recommend that in any situation when you feel the response you received was not accurate to write to [email protected].

In Northrend as well as in the Outland you are welcome to attack others from the tops of buildings or any other surface. This should also apply to Wintergrasp to a certain degree.

The only time that I could see that there may be an issue, and we might intervene, is when the Wintergrasp battle begins and prevents players from being able to mount their flying mounts. Those on a building out of reach could be considered to be taking advantage of a terrain exploit.

While the battle is not engaged though, you are well within your ability to attack from above. They have the option of running away and mounting up themselves. After all, you are confined to the tower you are standing on. You can root them or otherwise immobilize them but that is part of PvP.
