Trial Account Restrictions after Upgrade

Hello,

So, my girlfriend and I decided to try out WoW. After about a day into the trial we decided to upgrade to full accounts so that we could party/trade/etc.

Now, after upgrading online for $19.99 and adding subscription info, we still cant trade or anything (been about 24 hours). Now, I do not believe it was made all that clear that we still wouldnt be able to do so for 72 hours, but, I'll give Blizzard the benefit and say that I probably missed that part.

Yes, I know there are 5000 forum topics that deal with this, but none that address my specific questions that I've found...

First, we both still have 8 days left on our free trials, even though we upgraded yesterday. Will we have trial restrictions until the 8 days are up? Or is it truely just the 72 hour payment policy stuff at work?

Second, after browsing around the forums, there are mentions that adding a game time card to the account would lift the restrictions, however I could not find a post where a GM confirmed this. Is this true? If so I'll buy two right now.

Third, are there ANY ways around this pointless delay? I feel pretty shafted considering I now have a charge on my credit card and no product or benefit to show for it. (Myself and my girlfriend.) Can I abandon the digital buy and buy boxed versions? Can I complain and complain to Blizzard enough to make it happen? Game Time Card? Upgrade to an expansion, retail or otherwise?

I don't want my relationship with Blizzard to start out with quibble over policy-based delays that can and should be solved. I hope that the right thing is done here.

Thanks,

-Jason

Online upgrades generally take up to 72 hours for the process to complete, Klimru. With that said, I will hopefully shed some light on the questions you asked.

No, you will not have the trial restrictions for the 8 days remaining on the account. Once the upgrade process has completed, all restrictions will lift at that time.

The 72-hour pending process will need to run its course regardless if a Game Card is added or not.

I can understand your frustration, however, the 72-hour processing period is in place for security reasons. Upgrading the account, adding game time, or “complaining” will not make the upgrade complete any quicker. If you do not wish to wait the full 72 hours, you can always create another account with a retail copy of the game. You will then need to contact Account Services by phone to get a refund for the electronic upgrades.
