Gold Seller STILL talking to me!

I have reported once that I was getting harrased by multiple characters. I later reported that I was getting 'constantly' harrased by a multitude of characters. Now, I found that some of the names of the characters are still cropping up. People that simply bother me (IE -----------------). These characters have been reported by name and still keep pestering me.

Now, I don't mind the fact that I'm getting constantly bothered (cause it turns out some guildies give my characters names out to gold sellers that bother them, so that they get talked to less (they use 'report spam', but it ends when they log out. They also use ignore, but they just hop on a different character. So if they're bothering someone else, they don't bother them)). But the fact that I have to continually report these characters is insane, report spam and ignore don't deter anything for more than a minute. Right now I have a ticket open, and all I'm telling them is to 'wait until I'm not busy' which will be when the GM starts talking to me.

I'm sorry, Extremepost, but what? I think your guild mates are pulling your leg. Most of these gold spammers are set up to run automatically, it is highly unlikely that anyone is actually there to speak with and they certainly wouldn't need your name from someone they whispered.

They get their list of people by typing: /who (parameters)

Please use the Report Spam feature as that can quickly send a report to have the issue processed and it is used to ignore the entire account.

You are welcome to leave your petition open if you wish, Extremepost, but you are only serving to unnecessarily inflate queue times. The Report Spam feature was implemented as a way to quickly get the reports into a special queue for evaluation.

An interesting tactic. Likely being used in the hopes that you do not properly report them.

Really?

Well, relatively speaking. I haven't specifically encountered them myself but then I'm not a Game Master so I don't go over those reports and I don't usually receive in-game whispers from gold sellers when I'm playing, though I have received word that I was drawn into a contest. O.o

Well now I feel left out. :(

Thanks for the example, Methius. Our teams are always looking into improving our methods of prevention and there are several projected in the works behind the scenes. Unfortunately, beyond developing psychic abilities to get them before they send a whisper the best way currently to address these issues is to use the Report Spam feature.

That will not only deal with the spammer but it will likely result in a notification being sent to the registered e-mail address on the account so that the registered user will know that their account is compromised. The faster that happens the better equipped we are to repair whatever damage was caused.

Vrak, could you check to see if I Report Spam'ed the one I got last night?

Now I'm thinking I may not have, and I'd like to ticket it if not >.<

No you did not, but it has already been addressed. :)

Vrak, thanks for the new sig.

=D

Paraphrasing at its best. :P

I was just wondering if any forum bans ever get lifted? I mean, I didn't think I was harmful or detrimental to the forum community. All I did was make a (big) mistake.

Not that I'm aware of, Extremepost, not unless an error was made. They review but they are not always able to reply, unless the penalty will be overturned.

Perhaps someone here who is familiar with UI/Macros can answer your questions.
