Account and Trial accounts

I had taken a few months off from playing and while I was unsubscribed my account was hacked and banned. I've already spoken on the phone with a rep yesterday and am in the LONG process of waiting for my account to be restored. In the meantime, I've discovered that you can create a trial account connected with your battle.net account. I've been tooling around with the trial character for a bit just to get used to my new realm, however is this futile?

Will I be able to transfer this character to my main account once it has been finally restored?
What will that cost me?
Also, will I have to pay for the transfer as well as upgrade to a second full account to do so?
If I do decide to pay for the upgrade from the connected trial account, will I have to repurchase keys for BC and LK even though my main account already has them?

Thanks in advance.

You can only transfer characters from non-trial accounts. So unless you upgrade the character, and reach at least level 10 you will be unable to transfer.

Likely it will cost $25 USD.

Yes.

No, you can transfer from a lower version account to a higher version, just not the other way.

Though you may be under a bit of a misconception, Wunter. Queue times for compromise investigations are currently around a day. I wouldn't call that the LONG process of waiting by any stretch of the imagination.

On a side note, if I am logged in but on that trial account, will my account still be able to be restored or must I be completely logged out?

You are welcome to play while the investigation is ongoing, Wunter.

If the account is locked then you should have received an e-mail with instructions on how to regain access.

It looks like you already received that e-mail and request for Account Security Verification and sent in the requested information.

Once that is processed they should be able to unlock the account. The time is essentially irrelevant, our teams are mostly 24/7 including Account Administration for such things are verification.

Hopefully it won't be too much longer, Wunter.

Is that the right course of action? BTW, thanks Vrakthris for taking the time to help answer a frustrated gamer's questions.

Yes, Wunter. You are all set. As soon as your webform is processed they should be able to return access to you.
