Account Hacked

I apologize for posting another 'my account was hacked' thread but I wanted to check on this. I just resubbed Saturday from several months of not playing. When I got up this morning I had several e-mails about my account. The first was stating that my account was locked due to suspicious behavior. The second was requesting that my password was changed and the third was that my account was suspended because of an in-game chat policy violation.

I changed my password back and was able to log into my battle.net account and also into the game. My characters are gone (I only had a level 30 and maybe 3 low level toons). They are all gone and everything replaced with level ones.

I do feel better because I do not have any credit card information listed on my battle.net account as I bought a game card but I do have my name, address, and e-mail. That does concern me. Also, I am wondering how my password was changed. I got the password reset e-mail but when the hacker changed it I did not get a 'password change notice' email. Some may say the hacker knew my password and it does appear that way so I won't argue.

I have been received a few phishing e-mails with in the last week or so and I did email support to check to make sure everything was ok and they confirmed nothing was taken but they did still have my e-mail. I'm almost wondering if I should close down my account as I don't feel comfortable with this one being hacked and being linked to my e-mail.

I'm sorry this is long. I sent in a support ticket but needed a little more typing room :-). My major concerns are my home address being listed along with my name and e-mail. Thank you in advance :-).

You can change your e-mail address if you would like, Tergadfs. This can be accomplished via the Battle.net Account Management page: (https://us.battle.net/account/management/settings/change-email.html).

As for your account, and getting it investigated for the possibility of a restoration: Submitting an in-game petition was the first step, so if you have already done that, which your post indicates that you have, you are on your way. As posted above, I would recommend that you go through the following stick: (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=24702231244&sid=1). If will give you some valuable information regarding the restoration process, and what you can expect. If you have any further questions at that point, I would be happy to answer them. :0)
