Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Update ▲~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ
Hiya! -Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ
I have compiled the most common questions regarding the contest and updated information below.
- Q:How do I check if my email is legit?
A: ALWAYS check your email headers to verify, the steps are listed below:
What should I look for in the header?
Email headers contain information about the sender (who sent the email message), the path the email took to reach your inbox, and things that may have happened to the email before arriving. This information is very important and can be used to determine whether or not an email is malicious.
Once you've accessed an email's header information, you'll want to attempt to verify the sending address. To do this, look at the "Return-Path" or the "originating address" for the email. For most phishing emails, the email address displayed in this location will differ from the address displayed in the "From" field.
- A legitimate header from Blizzard Entertainment should look something like this:
X-SID-PRA BlizzardContest@blizzard.com
or
Return-Path: < BlizzardContest@blizzard.com >
Received: from smtp01.worldofwarcraft.com ([XX.XXX.XXX.XXX]) by…
Received: from … by smtp01.worldofwarcraft.com …

Q & A:
- Q: When were the emails sent out to the winners and has everyone been notified?
A:All winners have been notified and they were sent Monday 2/8/2010.
Q: How long do we have to send in the information?
A:You have until Beta is over to submit the information, but it would be best to send it as soon as you can.
Q: What if one of our guild members deactivated their account while they took a quick break from the game, can they reactive and I send in their info then? Do they need to reactivate first?
A:The Battle.net information for each guild member has to be submitted all at once and yes, they will need to have an active account.
Q: Do all 10 beta accounts need to be activated at once or can we activate 5 now and let’s say the rest in a week or 2 upon completing a guild contest to determine who gets the remaining keys?
A:You will need to provide all Battle.net account email addresses at once.
Q: I just found out that the guild leader recently switched his battle.net account address. He just now switched it to the address that was sent in the email. Will this affect him if it goes through?
A:Yes, it may affect that player, since our Community team will be going by the Information that was provided. I would suggest replying to BlizzardContest@blizzard.com, with any further concerns and questions regarding the contest.
Q: Do you have any idea when our account will be activated?
A: Our Community team is currently working on compiling and processing the list of winners as fast as they possibly can, this will take 2 weeks or so.
Q: Why am I not getting a straight answer as to when I am being flagged, why do I have to wait?
A:Although we understand your excitement and having to wait may be a bit frustrating. =/ The process in compiling the list and flagging accounts has to be done manually. That being said, I do not currently have the exact date and time you will get your account flagged, even if you sent your reply first or last.
Q: As we are just waiting for our accounts to be flagged, is there a way to download the beta while we wait, that way it's ready to go when the invites go through? Or do we just have to wait.
A:The only way to install the beta client is from your account management page. It will appear under “Your Game Accounts” section as World of Warcraft®: Cataclysm Beta when flagged. When you see that you’ll be able to click on it and continue to download it.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you during this process and your patience is appreciated. Congratulations once again and thank you! ✿⊱╮
